Dana Chwan was the wife of First Lieutenant Michael Chwan, an Air Force pilot shot down over North Vietnam at the beginning of the war. He was listed on the Missing in Action and Prisoner of War lists for years until 2/3 of his teeth and a piece of his jaw bone were identified. Those remains of Lt. The collection is from Lawrence E. Osswald’s time in Hays, Kansas where he served as Corporal in the US Army 480th MPEG Company in a American Prisoner-of War camp for Germans POW’s. The camp was located on the grounds of the Agricultural Experiment Station [currently the KSU Agricultural Research Center] South of Hays.
